The freshness of the new year is starting to wear off…

Perhaps you had huge dreams and strategic goals to kick off 2020, but unexpected circumstances have forced you to press pause on your plans. Maybe you started the beginning of January motivated to conquer your goals, but your excitement has dwindled with each passing day and it feels harder and harder to keep going.

Our goals and plans may not be turning out the way we hoped, but thankfully, God provides grace for us each day.

When the sun rises every morning, God lavishes His grace on us and gives us the gift of a fresh start.

Lamentations 3: 22-23 promises us that, ” The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning…”

His grace and mercy are new every single morning.

When shame and guilt seek to remind us of much we’ve already failed this year, let’s remember that each day is a new opportunity to begin. New mercies meet you every morning, not just every new year.

Mercy to start again. Mercy to get back up. Mercy to reevaluate goals. Mercy to change our plans.

Just because the new year has passed doesn’t mean we can’t start fresh today.
